Another American Hero

Lance Armstrong has announced today that it is time to retire from racing. He has done a extraordinary job at his sport winning the last six out of six Tour de France races. He has far outdone anyone in his class and appears to be untouchable as a athelete. Now to make it a little more interesting............ He suffered from A severe and debilitating cancer that would knock most men out of the human race let alone competitive bike racing. Hats off to you Lance or at least that is the way I see it here at Arathorn`s Alley

HEY! What happened to my original comment? :)

Anyhoo. It amazes me that his cancer and resulting chemotherapy actually helped Lance be a better rider. The chemo destroyed some of his muscle mass, which made him lighter and thinner. This, along with his longer than average legs, and larger than average heart and lungs, enables him to be untouchable in the Tour. Not to mention his tireless training.

I was kind of hoping he'd ride in the Tour one more time, but 6 is plenty. :)
